The founder of Ampro Industries, Inc., Mr. Irvin Lansky owned a dry goods store which was located in Memphis, TN, on the city’s historic Beale Street.

He sold various items, including multi-cultural hair care products. Impressed by the hair care industry, Mr. Lansky formed Vogue Distributing Company, a business that sold personal care products to beauty supply stores.

Later, Mr. Lansky opened Vogue Beauty and Barber Mart, a small beauty supply store located in downtown Memphis, just steps from his original location. It was in the basement of Vogue Beauty and Barber Mart that Mr. Lansky began manufacturing his own brand of hair products. In 1947, he named the line “Ampro” which is short for “American Products.” To date, Ampro products are still manufactured, warehoused, and shipped from its home in Memphis, TN.

Continuing Mr. Lansky’s vision, his daughter, Cheri Rudner – Chairman of the Board, her husband, Henry Rudner – CEO, and Jack Sammons – President of Ampro Industries, ensure that Ampro products maintain the value our consumers deserve. Our products are manufactured in an FDA Approved, state-of-the-art facility which is a few miles from where Mr. Lansky’s original dry goods store was located.
