I'm sure we were all spiritually in the studio with Solange when she recorded "Don't Touch My Hair!" Screaming, "yasssss" and hyping her up while she illustrated the importance of people treating our hair with respect.
You did not spend hours acheiving that perfect twist out in order for someone to unsolicitedly touch it. You did not spend 3+ hours at the beauty shop in order for someone to pet your press out. #RespectYourHair
Be confident when showcasing your hair texture, pattern, color, and length is important!! Your hair is not a pet or object in a museum. It is not to be touched without permission or fantasized about as something someone wish they could have. Let 'em know, having it ain't easy! Don't ever let anyone simplify your texture or your hair journey.
